FOOTPRINTS in the FYNBOS
It was a challenge to create a story for young children about an animal that naturally hunts smaller animals. So when Leeto, a young lonely leopard living in the Cape Mountains of South Africa, awoke he goes hunting... for a friend! He meets many fynbos characters along the way. Learning valuable life lessons on the journey, Leeto finally finds his longed for mate, Lara leopard. The story is used to illustrate important environmental education concepts, like, the importance of fire in the fynbos biome, the danger of illegal wire snares and the relationships between an apex predator and prey species, etc. The story ends with a fun filled board game, Leeto goes hunting for a friend game - suitable for the whole family.
